"Reunions offer updates on graduates"

Congratulations to Jessica Chuang, who has received her MPhil in chemistry from Cambridge
University, England. Her research concerned the folding of a bacterial enzyme. She is now working on her doctorate in chemistry at Stanford.

Some of our young academicians have changed positions. Peter Meilaender is teaching political science at Houghton College in New York. Karen Merrill is now teaching history at Williams.

Vincent Moore, who completed his Ph.D. in English in 1998 at the University of Southern
Mississippi, is now teaching at St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Virginia. He also advises the
Martial Arts Club.

Halle Morrison's subject is chemistry at Woodside Priory High School in Portola Valley, California. She is also finishing her master's in geology at San Jose State. Joseph Peek is now
teaching English at Banana Kelly High School in the Bronx. Computer science is Stephen Wong's field teaching's field at Rice University in Houston.

There is news about other OHSers. Stacy Dahl is now client relations executive for the Economist Intelligence Unit in Vienna. Amy Jonesco is the southeast-region public relations manager for Feld, Inc, the company that produces Disney on Ice and Ringling Bros-Barnum and Bailey Circus.

Nima Bhende Mane is a vice-president of the Population Council, which studies problems
around the the world. She is an specialist in AIDS. She now lives in New York. Grace Jeyasingh
Ponniah is now a software programmer for Eze Castle Software in the Boston area.

Fatima Khalil is a technical writer for Oce. Her manuals and online help are translated into seven languages. Though she works in Cleveland, she also travels to the company headquarters in the Netherlands.

Joe Michaels has returned from a year in Italy during which he taught English and studied composition at St. Cecilia Conservatory of Music in Rome. This fall he is studying composition at University of California at San Diego.

We were fortunate to be able to attend two OHS reunions this summer. First came the Class of '76. Stacey Arnold is a real estate broker in Athens, Texas. Dale Bradford is a real estate
development lawyer in Westlake. He and his wife Kathy Schubert, a stay-at-home mom, have four sons and two adopted daughters from Russia. The family lives in Strongsville.

Bruce Campbell is a painting contractor here in Oberlin. Donna Maruschak Carr is a manager
of a banking center of Fifth Third Bank in Ft. Myers.

Melanie Schwinn Hart teaches family and consumer courses at Franklin High School nearDayton. Derek Hawkins is a dealer in vintage guitars in Nashville.

Kathy Helke does restorative therapy in the physical therapy at Kendal at Oberlin. ChrisHougland is a steel worker in Lorain.

Pam Long, a former elementary school teacher in San Diego, is now traveling and writing. Norma Horning Lyons is a licensed practical nurse at the Life Care Center in Medina.

Dave Pauley is a stock broker at Merrill Lynch in N. Olmsted. Ross Peacock is director of institutional research for Oberlin College.

Gina Baker Pleasant is a survivor administrator for the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund in Columbus. Dirk Schoonmaker is a firefighter in Tahoe, California.

Shelle Shumate is studying social work at LCCC. Her husband Carlton Shumate, a lab technician for the water department of Oberlin, is a seminary student at Ashland and is the minister for People's Hope Church in Cleveland.

An FAA controller, Rick Twining coaches OHS softball and wrestling as well as Cable Co-op's summer softball team for 11-12-year olds. He and his wife were honored by the Oberlin OhioEducation Association earlier this year for their service to the Oberlin Schools.

Mike Willbond is a landscaping supervisor for Schrauf in N. Ridgeville. Rick Willbond is a commercial printer at St. Ives, which produces catalogs and books in Cuyahoga Heights.

Vicky Willbond is a stay-at-home mom in Vermilion. Cathy Zbydnowski is a special
education teacher's aide in Elyria pre-school.

Three cheers to organizers Dave and Ross as well as Sue Smith Schubert, a registered nurse.

Now let us visit the '91 reunion. Patricia Amenhauser is in the records department of the Oberlin Medical Center,.

Jill Berry Armstrong manages a Disney store at South Park Mall. Derek Baymiller is head
horticulturist for the Double Eagle Golf Club in Columbus.

Brian Bailey is a motorcycle salesman for Transport in Lexington, Kentucky. He is also a photographer there. Imani Jeanpierre Brown works in quality and laboratory information system for Amersco Biochemical Company in Solon.

Marla Cozart is a web developer/programmer at NACS. Willow Cregar is an auditor for Price,
Waterhouse, Cooper in Cincinnati.

Paul Cunningham is a FAA controller in Indianapolis. Stacy Dellefield is a claims specialist for Safeguard Properties in Brooklyn Heights.

David DeMarco is in his last year of medical school at Ohio State. Sam Dyson teaches physics at Walter Payton Preparatory School, a math, science, and languages magnet school in Chicago.

Duane Edwards works in
construction for Sturgills Dry Wall, Inc.in Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties. Tim Gilbert is a computer programmer for cmdi in Falls Church, Virginia.

Heather Hardwick Helke works in collections for Beneficial Finance. Her husband Steven is a foreman for Matherly Construction in Somerset, Kentucky.

Shawn Jackson is a recruiter for the U.S. Army in Columbus. During his eight years of service he was also in Bosnia, Germany, Washington state and Fort Knox, Kentucky. John Jonesco is a second year resident in family practice at the Ohio State Hospital.

Rob Knipper is a traveling nurse, presently working at the University of California at San Diego Hospital. He has also worked in San Francisco, Seattle, Denver and Los Angeles. Bob Kretchmar is district manager for New England for Master Chemical in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Ben McFadden is studying computer maintenance and hardware at LCCC. Margy Pierce is working on her doctorate in education at Harvard. Michelle Ricker is a stay-at-home mom in Amherst.

J.J. Schaum is a senior consultant for Ernst and Young in the acturial department. His wife Anne Pierce is operations manager for New Horizons in Independence.

Kenny Sparks is a geologist for Geosyntec monitoring and quality control at a Department of Energy landfill near Cincinnati. Kristin Stillwell is in information technology for Parexel in Centreville, Virginia.

Freddie Steen heads his own company F. Lee Entertainment in Nashville. He serves as a consultant and agent for gospel singers. He is also a song writer. Ben Williams is a research chemist at Miami of Ohio. His project regards the recycling of oil.

Bravo to Jeff Wright, the art production manager for American Greetings in Cleveland, who organized the reunion.
