To the Ones Who Have Gone Before

We remember you as you were,
Back then in your youth.
With hopes and dreams not yet gone sour
With the wear and tear of the world.

We remember your quick smiles and steps,
Your laughter, your struggles of adolescence.
You have passed through this life a bit too soon
In our estimation.

But we remember you as you were,
Back then in your youth.
